223 years ago the first warrant for this lodge was issued by the Grand Lodge of Ireland. The Grantees were Bros. Guy Bleakley, Thomas Morrison and John Noble, but no biographical information is available of these worthy brethren. In its early days the lodge appears to have been prosperous, as 25 members were registered in the book of Grand Lodge up until 13th July, 1769. Owing to the loss of almost all our early Irish Masonic records it is extremely difficult to trace the history of most of the 18th century lodges and 457 is no exception to the rule.

It appears that the lodge lapsed, or became dormant, at some date prior to 1796, as in September of that year the warrant was revived. For this revival the lodge paid the statutory fee for a new warrant, £6.10.8 1/2 (£6.54) and continued to work under the original warrant.

As was the case with many a good lodge of the time, No.457 fell into decay, made no returns to Grand Lodge, and was cancelled in 1823.
